FYFF is seeking donations to collect
clothing and luggage to be distributed
to recent hurricane disaster survivors of
​Lake Charles and across Calcasieu Parish
.


Drop Off Dates will start Tuesday 27th October 2020 in locations around Tangipahoa Parish. Please check our facebook page to obtain the most up-to-date information and to find out the drop off locations.  CLICK HERE go to our Facebook page.


Unfortunately, we are unable to accept unsorted, unlabeled items.  Please donate those items to your local charity or Goodwill.

All of your donations are tax-deductible. We are also in need of monetary funds for operations. CLICK HERE to make a monetary donation


We are seeking a Bus and Driver +/or large enclosed Trailer and Driver to make these deliveries. Currently we have a few personal pick-up trucks (more of these may be needed as well).  CLICK HERE to volunteer.  


We also strongly encourage residents in need, who have been affected by the recent hurricanes to register with us. As they will be the first to receive help. This will aid in getting the correct sizes and items to those in need.  CLICK HERE to apply for assistance.


Lastly, we are looking for a local business or church in Lake Charles or Calcasieu Parish to team up with to distribute these item to your community. CLICK HERE to partner up with us! We are also looking for drop off locations in Tangipahoa Parish.


All guidelines for physical and social distancing will be maintained.

We are also asking for NEW 5 gallon buckets WITH lids. To place each victim's donated items into.


Again, money donations are need as well. Whatever funds not used in funding Operation "Better Get A Bucket" will be donated directly back to needy residents of Lake Charles or Calcasieu Parish.

We plan to make 3 of these, donation trips. the next being before Thanksgiving and then before Christmas.

After Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, we too went through exactly what the residents of Calcasieu Parish are 
experiencing now.  Remembering "I don't even have a nightgown!" and carrying around important documents and toiletries in zip-locks freezer bags, sparked this mission to help others now.

​Because time is of the essence, we kindly ask you to help us in packing your donations for easily sorting and distribution, ensuring the correct items get delivered to suit each victim's personal needs. Please label all packages you donate.

​PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL DONATED CLOTHING HAVE BEEN RECENTLY WASHED.

Please only donate items in GOOD CONDITION or better.  (Please donate decent, wearable (no rips or heavily stained).  "work clothing" is okay, as many of the hurricane victims will have much clean up to complete before they can go home again.  However, PLEASE CLEARLY MARK these items as "Work Clothes".

To help us in the sorting of donations, we ask you to package your items in a specific manner.

Package CLOTHING items by ONE SIZE / ONE person, only in each bag / package.
Here are a a few examples of how your labels should read:

example 1:  FEMALE, size 16, athletic, 3 Shirts, 2 shorts, 3 socks, 1 baseball cap, Black + Greys
example 1:  FEMALE, size 12, work / office,  2 shirts, 2 skirts, 1 slip, 2 scarfs, Florals
example 1:  MALE, Medium, 32x30, 1 jeans, 2 shorts, 4 t-shirts, 2 underwear, 5 prs socks
example 1:  BOY CHILD, age 8, small size, 2 shorts, 3 shirts, 2 socks

Package SHOEs separately. Please mark size clearly.  Please tie each pair to its mate, either with their own laces/velcro or string/yarn.

Package BRAs separately. Please mark size clearly.  If possible, please place, one each, in ziplock baggie.
